Is Human Design the missing key in your business or workplace strategy?

When I first heard about Human Design 3 years ago, I knew it was going to change my life forever.

That’s a bold statement.

Of course there were personality tests such as Myers Briggs and Enneagram, which I had fun playing around with but always felt suspicious about results that changed according to my mood on the day I took the test.

You know, I can’t actually remember my Enneagram or my Myers Briggs, but I always remembered my Human Design, a Projector.

Learning more about being a Projector blew me away, I finally felt like I had been given a permission slip to embrace who I was. That’s why I use the system now in my business to help business owners understand who they are and how to use that to their advantage both in business and their personal life.

If you have set up a business you will know the deal, you feel so excited at the prospect of being an entrepreneur and getting to do it your way, then something weird happens, you start trying to act like everyone else.

Maybe you get stuck and need a solution so you start to follow other business owners on Instagram, then you download freebie after freebie to find a solution to this stuckness. Perhaps you should do it like that coach, or that strategist, or that one, or that one, and so the merry go round continues.Until you are more stuck than ever, you feel completely lost about your next action. Everything you’ve tried to do or be according to the business owners you’ve put on a pedestal feels off, or icky, it all just doesn’t feel like you.

See the online space is full of generalised strategies that, don’t get me wrong, are amazing, but it’s amazing for the person that created it. It works for that person, but that does not mean it will work for you. Why? Because that business owner may be a completely different design to you.

So how then do you get around this?

Human Design.

Let’s look at an example.

Meet Sonia, she’s a 35 year old Business Coach and Strategist, her Human Design type is a Manifesting Generator. She LOVES to work fast, she crams alot into her day, has a lot of ideas, her business has really taken off because she found, what she thinks is the secret sauce. Sonia is extroverted, she loves to be ‘out there’, she sells hard everyday and pushes pain points in order to trigger people to buy. She has a lot of energy and when she’s in flow she works right up to the point of tiredness then she goes to bed and does it all again the next day.

Now let’s meet Jane. Jane is a 42 year old Mindset Coach. She’s been in business a while and things were going well for a bit but now she’s struggling to receive consistent income. She’s tried EVERYTHING - the freebies, the challenges, she even invested twice in high level coaching - both with a Generator and a Manifest Generator.

Jane is a Projector. She’s so tired of trying to do it all yet can’t catch a flow. Jane still believes if she just worked harder and tried to be more like the coaches she looks up to that eventually she’ll succeed.

The thing is Jane is a completely different person and design to Sonia.

If Jane is to try to be like Sonia and use Sonia’s strategy she will burn out quickly and will feel unaligned and bitter every time. The major difference between Sonia and Jane is that Sonia has a Sacral motor - she has a lot of energy to work, and if she’s doing what she loves that energy can go on and on, yep, like a Duracell bunny.

Jane physically cannot do that. She thinks she can because she’s watching Sonia kill it. And instead of understanding the design differences, Jane turns the frustration on herself, telling herself she's lazy and is never going to make it.

Of course all of this is incredibly nuanced depending on the full chart of each Jane and Sonia, but it gives you an idea of why an individualised approach is important. And that’s what Human Design helps with, it creates the individualisation so you can see exactly how to approach both your business and your life.

Imagine if you knew this at the beginning and you were able to plug in your Human Design into your business. You looked at what works best for your design and implemented rather than spending (or wasting) time and money trying to squeeze into somebody elses box.

Imagine the relief, the flow, the permission - the success.

And Human Design doesn’t just work for business owners, it works in relationships - both professional and personal, in teams, in workplaces, family dynamics, the list goes on.

When we begin to understand ourselves through the Human Design system we also begin to open up to the understanding that everybody is different and needs to be treated as such. This brings true expansion for everybody involved.
