Is believabilty the key to growth?

Let’s talk about growth.

I know you have read and probably seen a million reels by now about how to ‘quantum leap’ from your couch to a 100k in like, a week. But I wanna talk about REAL growth.

Real honest to goodness ‘why is this so hard’ growth.

The growth where you are flying a long #livingyourbestlife then all of a sudden you’re on the couch, knee deep into a jar of peanut butter with Meg Ryan and Tom Hank romcoms on repeat for days type growth.

You might be thinking — “Well if you’re wasting your time on the couch stuffing oily goodness in your gob — you ain’t growing”

I beg to differ.

See it’s those ‘in the trenches’ moments that lead you towards growth.

The trajectory of growth is in the pattern of how you deal with those moments. AND how you change how you deal with them each time they come around.

That’s growth.

There’s two ways of looking at this using the “I can’t get off the couch example”

a) You continue to sit on the couch marveling at how magical a Meg and Tom combo truly is whilst telling yourself that you won’t make it and that everyone is doing it better than you.

OR

b) You get all the peanut butter you need and then say — What is actually going on here? Why am I looping this pattern? And how can I change and step out of it?

Here’s something significant I’ve noticed in navigating these two options.

Believability.

Yes, you’ve gotta work on your subconscious beliefs, your patterns, your nervous system, your values etc etc but without proof or believability that it’s possible then you’ll just keep reverting back to old patterns.

So how can you navigate this and actually grow?

A key component to you growing from either situation, whether that’s staying on the couch or moving towards your desires is to look at the looping messages going on and how you are reaffirming that in your life.

Let’s take a look;

  1. Couch mode activated🛋️
Are you always proving to yourself (and your subconscious) that what you want is not possible. E.g. Watching the news everyday and seeing negative stories, following people on social media who are stuck in the same struggle, constantly looking back at times when you were in the same situation as now.
➡️All of this is reaffirming that what you see to believe is true. Essentially you are embedding the same pattern into your subconscious.

  2. Growth mindset activated🤔
You see that you are in the pattern again. You allow yourself some time to wallow (we need that sometimes) then you look at ➡️”Why this is happening?” Whilst doing that you start to affirm that what you want IS possible. E.g. You read articles and books about people who have overcome obstacles to get what you want, you follow people on social media just like you who have made it to where you wanna be, you show yourself times when you did succeed in the past.
This is affirming proof in your subconscious (and rewriting the neural pathway) to a new possibility.

The difference and the growth capability is in the believability and what you are showing yourself (the proof) in the times of crisis and looping patterns.

IMO that is the (not as tasty as peanut butter) medicine for growth.
